From 10 June 2024, cats in England will need to be microchipped and registered on a database by the time they're 20 weeks old.

Whitby Street Angels looking for new recruits.

Whitby Street Angels is a voluntary group set up to help make Whitby town centre a safer and better place. At the moment they can only patrol on two Saturdays a month because of a lack of volunteers. Their aim is to help and listen to people, especially those in difficult or vulnerable situations.

Temporary Closure of New Quay Road Toilets for electrical works

There will be a temporary closure of the toilets at New Quay Road on 18 and 19 September to carry out electrical work to the building.

We apologise for any inconvenience.

Alternative locations are the town council's toilets on Pier Road and in the Market Place or the Front Marina Toilets operated by North Yorkshire Council.

Armed Forces Day - 24 June 2023

Armed Forces Day - 24 June 2023

The town council will be hosting its annual Armed Forces Day family event at Dock End, Whitby on 24 June. There will be community stalls and entertainment. The ATC will parade and the event will be attended by officers of RAF Fylingdales. Reveille at 10am and flag lowering at 4pm.
