Services of Remembrance 2017

Three services of Remembrance will take place in Whitby over the Remembrance Period.

On Saturday 11th November at 10.45am the Armistice Day Service will be held at the War Memorial at Dock End. The Town Mayor will lay a wreath on behalf of the town, organisations and individuals are invited to lay wreaths or tributes if they so wish.

On Saturday 11th November, a Service of Remembrance for thise who were lost at sea will be held at 2.30pm at the Bandstand.

On Sunday 12th November at 2.30pm the traditional Remembrance Day Service will be held at St. Mary's Church led by Father Michael Gobbett. Wreaths will be laid by the Town Mayor, Representatives from the Services and Organisations at the foot of the Remembrance Boards with the Church.

The Town Council has provided two poppy holders to enable individual and families who wish to place poppies and crosses at the Memorial throughout the Remembrance Period.

Poppies and Crosses will be avalable from the RBL on the weekend prior to both services and also available prior to the start of Armistice Day Service on the 11th November 2017.

All are welcome to attend the Services.
