Monitoring Visitor Movements
North Yorkshire County Council's Highways will be monitoring road usage to ensure that 'destinations', including Whitby, are not at risk of running out of space to socially distance through a rise in recreational visitors. The Government's recovery plan reinforces the role of enforcement in ensuring that everyone keeps to the rules.

Cancellation of Xmas Festival 2020
WHITBY CHRISTMAS FESTIVAL: 13th – 15th November 2020
Unfortunately, Whitby Town Council have made the very difficult decision to cancel this year's Christmas Festival due to the present conditions caused by Covid-19. Can Allotments be Tended During Lockdown?
The Government's advice at the moment is that tending an allotment with appropriate social distancing and preferably on your own, can be classed as daily exercise. The National Society of Allotment and Leisure Gardeners (NSALG) has issued useful guidance on how to manage allotments in accordance with government regulations.

Unusual First Day at Work
Mr Michael King has started work today as the new Town Clerk for Whitby Town Council and is welcomed by Councillors and staff on an unusual first day. Mr King is replacing the current Town Clerk, Pam Dobson who is retiring at the end of June after nearly 11 years.
