Whitby has retained a Blue Flag award and is Yorkshires only remaining Blue Flag beach after this year's certificates were issued for British seaside resorts. Scarborough North Bay, Withernsea and Hornsea are among six UK beaches to have had their coveted Blue Flag status withdrawn. Whitby is one of 65 beaches around the country to hold the certificate issued by the Foundation for Environmental Education.... Read More »

Whitby Town Council elected a new Town Mayor, Councillor Rebecca Pearson at their Annual Council meeting on Tuesday evening. Councillor Pearson has been Deputy Mayor for the last 2 years and Councillor Linda Wild was elected to be the Deputy Mayor for the coming year.
