West Cliff Dog Control Area

Statement received from Scarborough Borough Council Our position remains;

Prior to any formal action we assess if it is in the public interest. If someone has used the prior steps, because of a genuine inability to use the ones at the new limit of the beach ban, and in doing so kept their dog on a lead and walked straight out of the restricted area, it would be unlikely that any action would be taken - unless there were aggravating factors - abuse/aggression or intimidation of beach users etc.

In light of feedback from the public we are also arranging for two additional steps to be created in concrete at the base of the existing steps – exposed by the recent storms.
