COST BENEFIT TO RESIDENTS OF WHITBY TOWN COUNCIL’S CONTRIBUTION TO THE REPLACEMENT OF THE FOOTBRIDGE TO THE EAST PIER EXTENSION

The Town Council were recently faced with the following situation after being approached by Scarborough Borough Council. After careful consideration Option 3 was agreed to be the option with the best cost benefit to residents.

1.Whitby town council do not contribute to replacement of footbridge to the East Pier extension - outcome footbridge is not replaced even though residents have been asking for this.

2.Whitby Town Council contribute to replacement of footbridge to the East Pier extension and add £6,000 per year to Precept for next 20 years – outcome footbridge replacement goes ahead and residents pay more on Precept .

3. Whitby Town Council contribute to replacement of footbridge to the East Pier extension and contribute £6,000 per year for next 20 years from income on toilets (mainly from visitors using facilities) outcome footbridge replacement goes ahead everyone's happy!!!
