Plans for this year's spectacular Christmas Festival are well under way with a wonderful array of stalls and activities on offer.
Whitby Town Council are now recruiting a team of volunteers to help with the smooth running of the weekend, 16 – 18th November. Volunteers are required to help steward the impressive programme of events and activities on offer throughout the weekend.
This year's festival offers a packed programme including live music, Christmas market, fireworks and an amazing community lantern parade as well as the switch on of the Christmas lights. The Town Council are looking for enthusiastic volunteers to assist with a variety of roles.
Help to keep the festival participants and audience safe by stewarding the spectacular community lantern procession which will parade from the Pannett Art Gallery to the festival site on Friday 16th.
A festival stage on Saturday 17th and Sunday 18th November will be the setting for an amazing variety of attractions, providing the opportunity for many local bands, dance and drama groups to showcase their talents. The town Council are looking for stewards to support the Council Team to help ensure the smooth running of these fabulous performances as well as to assist with decorating the marquee on the afternoon of Friday 16th and helping to coordinate a Fashion show on Saturday 17th November.
Chairman of the Event Committee, Councillor Phil Trumper said "We are eager to recruit a team of enthusiastic volunteers to help us make sure this event is a great success. We are looking for a wide range of skills, from the practical – helping to decorate the Festival Marquee, through to the diplomatic – being the public face of the festival at our information point."
Other tasks may include:
- Helping to manage the Christmas market;
- Being part of a friendly team to be the public face and information point of the festival;
- Erecting and dismantling the stalls and clear up after the festival.
Volunteers will be part of the team that makes this event a success.
If you would like to volunteer please contact Helen Berry, Festival Makers Coordinator.
