THANK YOU

Once again Whitby Town Council have organised a fantastic Christmas Festival weekend and it wouldn't have happened without the help, support and commitment of a great many people, businesses and organisations. Our sincere thanks go to: -

Aspire 199 for its tireless work on social media promoting the Festival as well as its assistance with the setting up and derigging of the festival site, co-ordinating the wonderful performances in the marquee over the weekend and the fringe events with various businesses throughout the town;

Alex Thomson for generously opening the Festival on Friday night and taking part in our parade;

The skilful hardworking team who braved the weather to put up and take down the festival site;

Animated Objects who since the Community Parades inception have worked tireless with all the local schools coming up with imaginative and wonderful lanterns year after year and organising the spectacular parade through Whitby;

Sainsburys and its staff for their commitment to the Festival by not only donating all the prizes for the tombola, but all the money raised from it, helping to fund future Christmas Festival events. The fashion models in their fabulous fashion show were amazing and there were some faces to watch in the future if modelling becomes their chose career;

Power Care who once again pulled out all the stops to ensure the festival site and Christmas lights were shining bright;

Scarborough Borough Council who have supported the Town Council and awarded grants to enable our festival to grow year on year;

Harbour Office staff for whom nothing was too much trouble;

Our amazing Councillors and fabulous volunteers who gave their time so generously, helping to look after the site and the visitors. We couldn't manage without them;

Yorkshire Coast Radio and Team for their amazing road show on Friday night;

Tom Cornforth and the Audio Whitby Sound Team, who were amazing this weekend keeping the site and marquee alive with music;

Arthur and Clayton Franklin who have supported the Town Council from our first festival four years ago and whose generosity knows no bounds;

Our County Councillors Joe Plant and David Chance who support us each year with precious funding from their locality budgets;

Our Stall holders who turn up year after year in all weathers to support our market;

The many talented performers who brightened up the festival with their amazing performances;

Endeavour Café who supported all the worker setting up the site with cups of coffee, tea and bacon butties

St Georges Security who kept the site safe and sound not only throughout the festival nights but during the setting up stage as well;

The National Lottery Community Fund and all our sponsors whose support helps to keep the Christmas Festival fresh and vibrant;

Medics UK who were on site throughout, who thankfully had a quiet weekend;

Phoenix fireworks who put on a magnificent display yet again;

And last but not least all the members of the public who visited and supported our festival in all types of weather this weekend, without who there would be no festival.

If we have missed anyone, we do apologies.
