Local Appeal to Raise Money for Children with Hidden Impairments

WHISH is appealing to buy a floating Beach Wheelchair. To enable kids with disabilities to enjoy the beach and go in the sea, just like their friends.

WHISH Is a parent-led small charity which is completely self-funded, it supports over 200 children & young people around Whitby who have a Hidden Impairment (HI). It provides:
o activities for children & teenagers;
o multi-sensory room;
o information & support for families;
o training for parents & professionals;
o parent support groups and
o family outings.

What are Hidden Impairments ?
WHISH's members currently have over 40 different HIs, some well known, like autism, diabetes and epilepsy, some chromosome disorders are so rare they don't have a name.

Children with HI often have difficulties accessing "normal" leisure and social situations, and are often unsafe and vulnerable in public situations.
