Town Mayor’s Christmas Card Competition
Design a Christmas card for the Whitby Town Mayor and you could win the opportunity to switch on the Town Christmas Lights on the Greatest Hits Radio stage on Friday 26 November at the Whitby Christmas Festival.
Whitby Town Council is running the design a Christmas Card competition for children. The winning design will be used for the Mayoral Christmas Card, to be sent out to friends, contacts, and civic dignitaries across the world, as well as for festival publicity, and the winner has the honour of switching on the Town's Christmas Lights with the Town Mayor of Whitby, Councillor Linda Wild, and local celebrity Alistair Griffin.
Councillor Linda Wild said "We have been working hard to put together an amazing event this year. We want to showcase the talent of local young people and the winning Christmas card design will be seen across the world. I hope the winning young artist will join me on the festival stage for our spectacular light switch on."
The theme this year is "Family Christmas in Whitby". We hope children will enjoy interpreting this theme, recognising, and reflecting the diverse nature of the modern family in Whitby.
Every child who submits an entry will receive a certificate signed by the Town Mayor. The winner will also win a £10 book token, and a set of 10 Christmas cards featuring the winning design.
You can download the entry form from the link on this page.
Completed designs should be handed in at the Pannett Art Gallery. The gallery is open Tuesday – Sunday, 10.30am – 4.30pm
Entries should be delivered to Pannett Art Gallery by Monday 1 November 2021.
